I get the idea of early or low serial, how about the significance (if any) of a high serial from a lengthy run?

99XXXXXX serial numbers indicate that a note came from an uncut sheet sold by the BEP that was later cut by hand.

Actually Bio that is not necessarily the case. In each non-star block, all serial numbers used on uncut sheets are above 99840000 in Series 1981 and 1981A; above 99776000 in Series 1985; above 99200000 in Series 1988; and above 96000000 in all other series listed. (Exception: some Series 1995 $5 sheets on district H were printed with serials in the 8888xxxx range.)

Here I posted a note with a 99xxxxxx serial number that is not from an uncut sheet. Well technically all notes come from uncut sheets but we use the term "uncut" to mean sheets sold by the BEP to collectors.

I assume the OP is talking about normal press-run notes with high serial numbers (just in case; it wasn't covered yet).

There doesn't seem to be as much interest in notes such as these, probably because their serial numbers don't really stand out as much as a low serial number.. For example, 00003478 has the equivalent of 95996522. It just doesn't look very special. However, if you come across a note such as 95999994, then maybe there will be interest in it.

Interesting, I always thought that was the universal cutoff. Thanks for the correction Nickelman

Got this one today and figured I would post it in here. Notice the horrible scissor job from the person who cut it from the sheet

I remember when modern uncut sheets became available. A guy cut his apart with pinking shears: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^
