Where ever I travel, I try to make it a point to visit some coin shops in the area.

I am going to be in Boston, MA next week and was wondering if anyone knows good shops to buy Non-US coins from in the area.

My primary focus is British India coins but I am always looking for interesting coins from all over the world. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

The biggest one that I know of in Boston would be JJ teaparty but they deal in mostly U.S stuff. They are located on 49 Bromfield St. There are another three shops that are located about a block or less from JJ teaparty and are all located on the same street. Minuteman coin & jewelry(29 Bromfield st)have some coins but not a lot. Colonial trading co.(located on the corner of tremont and bromfield st) and Bay State coin co.(located on 31 Bromfield st) may be your best bet for foreign coins.

There are a couple other shops that I can think of in MA. Lexington coin in I think 6 N Hancock St. Lexington, C&J Coin & Jewelery in I think 166 Main st Woburn, Northshore numismatics in 358 Main st Wakefield, and Kappy's Coins & stamps in I think 534 Washington st. Norwood. I think there are a few more but I just can't remember them or have not been there before.

Forgot to mention, if you do venture outside Boston, I think it may be more likely that C&J coin & jewelry and Kappy's coins & stamps would have what you are looking for. Lexington coin I can't say for sure since I have not been there in a while and Northshore numismatics deals mostly in U.S with a small selection of foreign.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions DoubleEagle! I checked out almost all shops in the area. Here's what I found

Dealers good for Foreign Coins
1) Lexington Coin, Lexington - They have a lot of foreign coins! Your best bet in the Boston area for foreign coins. Very friendly staff.
2) Colonial Trading Co, Boston - They have a lot of foreign coins too. Good selection.

Dealers OK for foreign coins
1) C J coins, Woburn - They have a limited selection of two small boxes of coins
2) Minuteman Coins, Boston - They have a small box of foreign coins

Dealers bad for Foreign Coins
1) JJ Teaparty - The owner told me "You can't find foreign coins in Boston, may be one or two" and "Foreign coins are practically worthless"
