can somebody tell me if this coin is fake
I'm looking at buying a 1925 penny but I'm not sure.
there is no info on the web about how to tell if it is a
counterfeit

I wouldn't buy a coin with that much verdigris. Consider buying a coin in a third party slab (one of the major 2 PCGS or NGC), this will eliminate costly mistakes we have all made.

Looks genuine but a very low grade due to the corosion.
You should be able to pick one up in VF for $150-$200
