Colors On The New 2011 Bison, Orca, Falcon.

Scissel Pillar of the Community Canada 693 Posts	Posted 11/20/2011 10:21 am For those of you who have the set by now: Do you see any white behind the color? Most of the previous colored 25¢ had a background layer of white to make the color "pop" more. Usually there was some play in the color registration & you could see a bit of white peeking out at the edge of the color. I'm not seeing a layer of white behind the green/blue/orange on my new set. If this is true, it would mean there has been advancement in the color technology. Better ink? From what I can tell, the progression has been: 2004 Poppy: Red + Black + clear UV coating. 2006 Ribbon: White + White (2nd hit) + Pink + UV coating. 2008 Poppy: White + Red + Black + clear UV coating. 2009 Olympic: White + Red + Black + clear UV coating. (Rotation registered) 2010 Poppies: White + Red + Black + clear UV coating. (Rotation registered) 2011 Animals: (White?) + Color + clear UV coating. canuck1us Pillar of the Community United States 1002 Posts	Posted 11/20/2011 10:44 am On close inspection of the 2011 coloured quarters, I do not see any indication of a layer of white. I have also looked at all the other coins that you have listed below for comparison. On my 2009 colored Olympic coins I didn't see any indication of a layer of white underneath the red either.
