I have a coin that looks exactly like the one in this picture ... http://www.muenzauktion.com/kohlros...2-1plus2.jpg If you can't pull it up, here's a description... Obverse: Right-facing profile of Paul von Hindenburg; the name "Paul von Hindenburg"; the years "1847-1934" Reverse: Nazi eagle, wreath, swastika; the number "2"; the words "Deutsches Reich"; the year "1939" The difference between my coin and the one pictured is this - the pictured coin bears the word "Reichsmark"; my coin, instead of that word, has the year "1989". Does anyone have ANY info on this coin (e.g., composition, year, commemorative, country, etc.)? Count me stumped (or, I suppose, stumpft)! Report this Post to the Staff

Sap Moderator Australia 16837 Posts	Posted 11/25/2011 12:11 pm It's definitely not an official German government issue - they'd never make a commemorative coin with the swastika on it. I know the Chinese counterfeiters love to make coins with false dates on them - ASEs dated "1906" or Royal Wedding crowns dated "1086". I've never heard of them making fake Nazi coins, but I wouldn't put it past them. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff

It has a lettered edge - 50 year German Commemorative - solid German silver German silver has NO silver in it - It consists of nickel, zinc, copper If this was a German issue, it would not have an English legend on the rim. I was thinking that it may have been issued on Hitler's 100th anniversary of birth - 1889-1989. Report this Post to the Staff
