Hi guys

Just going through pocket change tonight and came across this 1978 quarter....Looked it up and I think it is the (LD) Large denticle type...What do you think...?

Large denticles.
If unsure whether near or far, count the denticles, the large bead will have 60 in half the coin.

I find it easier to look at the H below the caribou if the H straddles the denticle than its a large if the legs of the H line up with the denticles than its a small

Well DBM

I did like you said and that brought me about half way around the quarter, so I continued and got 119 denticles...Could be out by one, cause your eyes play tricked when you are counting all the same shapes...Looks like LD to me.

Look at the pic, is that what you mean about the "H" lining up with the denticle...?

The one in your first picture is a large denticle if you look at the picture the denticle is between the legs of the H if it was a small each leg of the H would line up with a denticle. Hope this helps

Not a problem wert, you can also double check with the last A in Canada it will point to the denticle for the large denticle coin.
