I just found a bunch of coins that belonged to one of my Grandmas. I have no idea about coins, and need some help. This coin here, I'm assuming is from France, but not quite sure. There is no date on it, so I couldn't google it. If anyone could help, that would be great! Here are the pictures.

The coin is from Tunisia not France and the date is in Arabic on the side opposite Tunisie - it reads 1355 (AH). That translates to 1977.

Corrcet, except Islamic year 1355 converts to AD 1936.

Are dates after 1920 still calculated using the Lunar calendar conversion? I read somewhere that for later Arabic dates all you had to do was add 622 years to the date instead of going through the Lunar to solar conversion first. Is that not correct? Or is the use of the solar year limited to business only?

Some countries switched to the solar year for coin dating, some didn't, some switched to Christian dates, and then there are exceptions like Iran which switched to the solar year, then switched to a monarchial dating system for 1976-1978, then switched back to the solar year.

And to the original poster, if you're curious the book value of your coin is around US$10.

Correct. The only two countries that have used Solar Hejira dating on their coins are Iran and Afghanistan. All other "Islamic dates" on coins are lunar calendar.
