so I was excited because I got the set today and I went home to crack it open to make sure everything looked ok. I opened the box and my reverse proof was still in the airtite but loose from the holder-bouncing around in the case. I also had my "s" mintmark fall out of the airtite and rattle around loose in the case for god knows how long. if there is a god - he hates me and this just proves it.

has anyone else had any similar problems?

If you check some of the other threads pertaining to this, you'll see that, more than a few have had the same problem ! ....

Looks like the Mint should have made the packing material much much tighter...

I've got my two sets......but I haven't opened the box yet, because I'm sending them off to PCGS for grading.
It "sounds" intact inside there...but I can't be sure.
I hope when they get my box at PGCG, that they're not destroyed by then !

My set also arrived today. All coins were in their airtites but loose in the holes provides in the case. It does have that new car smell. The looming issue with my set is a raised curly metal speck next to the S mint coin along with many streaks across the same coin.

I still feel lucky to get my one set as I have waited a month to receive it after my order.

yeah, I have a problem with my reverse proof having a "speck" on the far right that is really out of place

My S was loose but still in airtite. All coins were in good shape. My only complaint is that the box has a strong odor.

Your experience is not unique by any means...

I purchased five sets. All of them had the coin capsules bounced out of the holder plate. In 3 of the 5 sets, I had coins completely out of the capsule, running loose inside the mint box.

The first set I opened, the 2011-W proof was out of the capsule laying in the bottom of the box. At first I thought it was missing. I put on the latex gloves and carefully placed it back in the capsule.

I kept 2 sets. I course cherry-picked the best coins and boxes for myself, and sold the rejects to a dealer for a tidy profit. Win/Win!

I had the same problem when I received my sets. One box was (outer sleeve and cardboard box) was damaged. The wooden box inside wasn't
damaged though. I think the U.S. Mint dropped the ball when it came to packaging thsese sets for shipment. They could have done a much better job.
