`how should I decide which if any are worth buying? and what sort of price should I pay for them? I'm only going to get 1's 2's and 5's if I buy

1. Grab a Renniks coin and banknote guide. Costs 30 bucks and will save you a fortune.
2. Spend two or three weeks watching. I'm guessing you're buying on ebay. Just watch what things go for, generally speaking, its about 50-60% of catalogue value.
3. Only buy uncirculated! Paper notes are cheap in all grades, so you may as well buy UNC now to avoid having to upgrade later. Notes are cheap enough to do this with for sure.

4. Consider Polymer notes. Long term investment prospects look better for polymer notes than they do for paper notes with a few exceptions.

thanks, I brought 4 $1 notes for $2.74, postage adds $5, so I dont think thats too bad, heck the memories of having a pocket full of them as a kid is worth the price :)

i do have a 1988 book, and just looking at it, the ones I brought, back then where valued at $3 and $4 lol

Only buy 1967 banknotes (coombs & randall) or first
and last prefixes and star notes. Other than that,
if you can't get them for face value, you might as well
tear up your money.
