i found one very similar in my collection, except on the side with the thicker rim, the edge seems to be tapered somewhat, the one I have seems to be in better condition.
is it anything special? what sort of $$ would I expect from selling it?

well as condor said and as the link you posted shows, the coin you have is common
if part of the design was chopped off the coin would be worth holding onto. I haven't found one that was that off center where it is missing part of the design in circulation yet and I have searched for 3 years. Save it if you like it, because what you like is what matters in this hobby, but you aren't going to get rich off it.
