ATB Five Ounce Silver Coins

I think the value will go up if mintage ceases just like any other coin.

Mine should be here anyday now, I so wanted to buy the p version this weekend plus the silver quarter proof set, since they lowered price on quarter set. But I just got a 2012-W burnished eagle ms70 from ngc. Now I think I'll have to wait for the mint order til next week. Or maybe I'll still jt order the p vesion and pass on silver quarter set? What to do, what to do? Is it true then2012-W barnished the 2nd or 3rd lowest mintage for a burnished coin?

The scuffs are odd...but man that lake looks deep doesn't it...tkflex - not sure of the numbers but the 2012 W was one of the lowest mintages to date.

I think the "scuffs" are just reflections from my camera.

Good to hear from you again, barryg! Are you going to buy the uncirculated White Mountain puck for $180 or are you sticking with the bullion from here on out? @$130+ it's very attractive pricing.

You know the more I think about it, I may be sticking to bullion only also. At least while ag prices are low.

Thanks for the burnish info, I'm glad a got a 70now. Maybe this is the year to start getting more p version pucks, I like the bullion better, but the p version is nice too in a different way. Since this is the cheapest we will prob see these. It might be a good idea to stock up or start buying the P's. I have about 11 out of 16 of the coins, and only one is P version(Denali SP69).

This series is very intriguing to me. I love collecting silver and I love these designs on the 5oz pucks, great eye appeal to me. However, I can not justify collecting both the bullion versions and the P-versions.

I have decided to collect the P-versions as I feel that they would be the ones most likely to appreciate in value aside from the movement of silver prices. Each issue seems to have a similar mintage so rarity will likely be the same but wouldn't you think that the P-version would garner more demand in the future? Or am I falling into the trap of thinking these will ever be anything more than bullion in the eyes of the numismatist?
