@jack_jackel: re: the Chaco coin, it was available for over 9 months @ $204.95, then in October the coins went up $25.00 to $229.95, and then the sellouts started happening in January, so it wasn't like the writing wasn't on the wall to see that final mintage levels of the last 2012-P coin wasn't going to go over 17,500. If you were waiting on the lowered sale price your trigger fingers had to be quick. Most casual collectors only go after these coins when there is a near sellout when everyone else is jumping on the bandwagon on the item. I don't understand why collectors have this attitude, unless they're merely flippers?

Re: the Gettysburg bullion in Gettysburg-P OGP: $50+ just for the box with OGP? Really? Has anyone seen/ ordered this Mint product from APMEX? I'm curious if it's exactly like the uncirculated OGP with minor lettering changes on the box:

thanks for the info never looked closely at those, EVER. I dont know if I would really get into the quarters tho interest has been perked because of these 5 oz BU pieces.

Thanks, Doug, for the input. I'll try to remember to include this product with the next APMEX order. I'll be very surprised if the injection molded insert is sized differently than for the uncirculated coin with gov't holder. The irony is that the majority of single bullion coin sales now come with a free or minimal cost Air-Tite holder.

Mine shows in stock and reserved - has since I ordered it. I am guessing they are shipping the subscriptions first then the online orders - but it has only been 5 days.

First week's numbers for White Mountain 5oz:

P: 10,605
Bullion: 23,300 (after 8 days of sale)

Strong start, but as always the momentum will eventually stall and people are going yawn over these again. Already the bullion has sold more than Volcanoes and Denali, and that is going to make the flippers pause. This wouldn't be the coin for the year anyway. The collector coin will probably end up around 16-17K as each release seems to sell over 50% of its total distribution in the first week of sales.

Given the upcoming decreases in the silver sets, is $180 too much to pay for $115 worth of physical silver? There will be collectors waiting to see if there will be another price cut and that too will slow sales down.

I'm expecting better sells on these now that the price is under $200. It is still a pretty stiff yearly cost for many people - that collect silver. I bought both the P and bullion ... I agree the bullion is the value buy - but after getting my Chaco - I've decided I actually like the frosted finish better.

@angel2004: the Mint took the unusual step of issuing a bulletin today for price changes to happen tomorrow:

Silver Quarter set: $36.95 from $41.95
Silver Proof Set: $60.95 from $67.95
Congratulations Set: $59.95 from $64.95

The single coins were adjusted a few weeks ago so another price drop probably won't happen unless silver goes sub-$20 and stays there. There is room for the 5oz. ATB to come down a bit more, to $154.95, and the Mint would still make money although they probably paid market for the blanks when it was $30/oz. so it's probably not going to happen.

Thank you! Yes, I just saw the decreases. I haven't bought the 2013 yet so that's good. Yes, I agree on your thoughts for the 5oz. coin. I think with lower spot in relation to cost, some may wait. I know I am. But, look what happened at the end of last year! The Mint raised the price of the 5oz coins with silver not going up. I really thought that was strange.
