In no way is this link appropriate for the PM section much less the entire forum. It even clearly states...

I cannot watch that video, so I have no idea what it contains.

However, I do know that short of some stupendous miracle, America cannot survive as a nation like we are now. Do I like that? No. But the handwriting is on the wall and no one is heeding it.

If you compare today to the time of the Great Depression, you can see everything playing out almost exactly as it did then. Not just in America, but worldwide.

The only major difference is that then America was a CREDITOR nation, not beholden to anyone in the world. Today, America is a DEBTOR nation, and a SLAVE to our lenders, primarily China, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Japan, all of which hate America and what it stands for.

When WWII came, we had the wherewithal to survive without any outside help. Today, we have nothing. When WWIII comes, we will be the first to fall. For example, how can we fight a war WITHOUT money? We have no money. Is it reasonable to expect OUR ENEMIES to fund our military that is warring against THEM? And is it reasonable for our enemies to ignore us considering that America twice has been the key supporter of the winners in the last two world wars? Without America's industrial power, now non-existent, both of the world wars would have undoubtedly turned out differently.

No nation in history ever had a strong military without also having a strong economy that funded that military. America's economy is weak and growing weaker and cannot fund a strong military. If we were still a CREDITOR nation, that would not be a problem as we could still fund a military. As a DEBTOR nation, a weak economy ensures a weak military.

Worse yet, we have no industrial infrastructure that can be quickly converted to build the military equipment that will be needed. Instead of a few weeks, as in WWII, to restructure our factories, it would take months and years to build the factories from scratch. By then it would be far too late.

In the end, "Will America survive?" Yes, but not as we know it. When this house of cards finally collapses, America as we know it will cease to exist. When will this happen? No one knows. It could be tomorrow (highly unlikely) or it could be ten years down the road.

Those that can read the handwriting are preparing for the worst. Those are the people that have the best chance of surviving and even ending up as the leaders of tomorrow. And if the worst never comes, which is almost impossible, those that have prepared will still be the movers and shakers of tomorrow. Either way, the preparers will be the winners in the end.

Mmerlin is a smart fella.

Ever sense I became an adult (i dont mean sense I turned 18 most of us are still kids at 18), or rather ever sense roughly 25 or 26 I have seen much the same almost impending doom. I honestly am a tad weary of the houses I own in the US because it is probable sometime with in say the next 20 or so years America may not be America any longer. Obviously if a new regime comes in my little deeds of land are worth the paper they are printed on and nothing more :/

For the past few years I always talk with my family and tell them how much I hate how this country is run, because when I first grew up it was not this way. In the 80s you where proud to be an american, then in the 90s most of us sort of had a blissful haze and ignored the problems now in the 00s and the 10s the poop IS hitting the fan. Most still ignorantly dont pay attention. The United States has a gawd aweful economy, has one of the biggest jokes for a financial system in existence and to top it off has a government that is so bloated, pompous and gluttonous that at times it seems that one in every 5 people is part of the government in some way. Whether they are a politician, a police officer, a judge, a teacher, a road crew worker, or one of the millions of government workers who exist in some form or another. WE CAN NOT CONTINUE THIS WAY it is not sustainable.

Oh and btw sorry I did not watch your video Oden. But after ol Merlin spoke some truth I could not let nothing else be added.

Dangit I had a long post made but lost it.

Long story short? That's an hour I'll never get back. His basic premise is correct, a big change is coming. Anyone can see the current system is unsustainable. But just because he can put together a video with publically-available facts and figures does not mean he know any better about anything than anyone else. The whole video is how he's going to tell you how to profit, etc etc etc... then it's "see my book, see my report, subscribe to my service." Seems like a classic snake-oil salesman techniques to me.

One thing which really makes me question his grasp on macroeconomic principles is his lack of any direct reference to the Fed. Anyone who has an economic and/or history background should know this is a major contributing factor to the current economic problems-- the Founding Fathers fought vehemently against such an organization ever taking root, and they were right. The fact that he does not directly mention it makes me wonder if either he is not on top of things as he says or he is talking down to his audience-- either of which is not a good thing when it comes to a financial guru.
