Hello everyone, I ask your help to correctly identify this coin that weighs 11.57g
I looked around but I can't find one like that, the reverse has no legends, except for the initials SC, I read on the obverse IVS, the portrait seems to me nero.
I think it may be a dupondius , or a provincial.
On the head there seems to be leaning something narrow and long.
thanks for help.

I seems to me to have the peculiar style of a Spanish mint about it.

The bust looks like Sol to me - I have no idea if his portrait was used on this type of coin though.

..or of course Helios.

I know Domitian minted these 'SC' coins with Minerva on the obverse so maybe someone else did it with Sol / Helios.

The bust does look like a Nero portrait type from Alexandria (see my coin below), but I have been unable to find one with this reverse. I'm still looking.

Provincial-Or-Dupondius,-Maybe-Nero?

Cohen attributed it to Gallienus. Old Sear (I don'y have the latest one) put it in the Interregnum after Aurelian before Tacitus. The legend reads GENIVS PR.

it is listed in both sestertius and dupondius size but I'm not sure which was intended since sestertii of that period are a bit small anyway. They are not usually any nicer than yours with complete legends a rarity. Don't sell it cheaply.

Gallienus as Genius makes a bit of sense - its certainly not a standard bust style. I'm not sure Genius would be depicted wearing a radiate though.

From what I can gather the known attributions are by no means sure, it still reminds me of the Sol depictions of the 3rd century. Nice find giano.

Thanks to all for research and answers, I've found it on wildwinds.(numbers 2 and 5)
http://wildwinds.com/coins/ric/gallienus/t.html

Is listed as a double sestertius apparently can have a lot of weight from 20 to 13 g, is classified as very rare ......
I want to assure everyone that I do not sell anything, I keep for me,all coins I buy.
The seller had not been able to catalog it, probably if he was able I wouldn't buy it at the price I paid.
Perhaps I have been very lucky
at this point I hope it can be genuine.....
