Hi there. I was looking through a roll of pennies and noticed this on a 1974 1 cent reverse. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen this before and what it is?

I can't tell if it is PMD or other as this is the first time that I've seen this before. As always, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

looks like glue. for it not to be PMD it would have to be the same composition as the penney.

I also thought that it looked like glue or laquer of some type but that didn't make no sense to me why anybody would put either on a 1974 penny. Thanks for your reply pman860507.

I would test it to see if it is but it looks pretty nasty. :)
