The title just about sez it all. I am guessing Gibraltar under Spanish rule... It is a replica of a coin but what?

I have no idea what your title is supposed to mean, but the coin is indeed a replica, of a Spanish gold 8 escudos. There are a couple more examples in this thread.

They usually come irregularly shaped, just like the original coins typically are. Yours has been rounded off, perhaps to hide the edge seam, perhaps to fit into jewellery of some kind.
