Hi All,

I just had to tell you what just happend.

I'm sitting at home working on a new kind of bookmark when an old friend of mine from grade school called. It seemed that he had this mayonaise jar filled with pennies and asked me if I wanted them.

My comment was "Sure ...been tossin; pennies in a jar uh Dave?" Suprizingly he said no.

He continued to explain, "do you remember when we use to play tossin' pennies before the school passed a rule saying we couldn't.?

Me "Jesus Dave, that was in 1959 when they made us stop us stop doing that..!"

Dave "Well, when we were playing I placed all the pennies I won in a this jar. After we stopped I just saved the jar. I was cleaning out my garage the other day and found them. I remembered you collected pennies and thought you might like to have them."

Me "Sure Dave..I would love them. But why don't you go through them to see if there is anything valuable..?

Dave, "Steve I have had these things for 45 years. I will let you do it. I'm coming to Las Vegas in two weeks and will bring them with me."

Me, " Sounds great Dave. Thanks a lot. It will be fun going through them having known that I gambled some of these away 45 years ago. At least you can let me buy you lunch while your here."

Dave, "Deal..!"

Who said there still wasn't little hidden treasure's laying around. We played tossin' for pennies from around 1956 to 1959 before the school got on our case and banned the game. A quart size jar can hold a lot of pennies. I wonder what's in i?

1950-1958 Good years for BIEs and other failed dies. Why it was just the other day that Murf the Surf Murphy called and said he should have stolen my 1957D Lincoln Goatee instead of that silly Star of India sapphire.

Cool- what a neat story! Who knows what kind of goodies you've got in there! Let us know, OK? And if there is a 55-DDO in there, well, you know someone who would give it a good home...
