Mexico-1955-5-Centavos-On-Wrong-Planchet

Found this 1955 Mexico 5 centavos on a different planchet. The strike is softer and weak towards the rim. The reverse denticles are mostly off the planchet. The coin weighs 5.43 grams, is 24.0mm in diameter and is 1.5mm thick. The coin has red in the devises particularly on the reverse. The rim looks normal, no file marks.

I see the 1955 10 centavo coin is 5.50 grams and is 23.5mm in diameter so I suspect the planchet was one of these. I measured a 1966 BU and its diameter is 23.5mm and thickness is 1.8mm and it weighs 5.46g. Seems to verify that my coin is on a 10 centavo KM-433 plan.

Comments appreciated. Thanks

My 2008 catalogue prices the 1955 five centavos on 10 centavos planchet at US $250 in xf-unc. Looks like damage above dona Josefa.

Thanks. It does look like damage at the top. Will relook at the coin.

The perfect centering, lack of metal flow, and possible sloping periphery all indicate alteration outside the mint.
Error coin writer and researcher.
