If silver prices triple in the coming year, all other (base metal) prices will too.

That's real bad. That means that manufacturing industries World wide will have to pay triple for their basic raw products, and if they do , I do not think all of therir increased costs can be passed on to the consumer. If that happens, there will be significant job loss World wide, and we won't be able to afford the the finished products of manufacturing.

Having 'painted' that drastic scenario, I am reasonably certain it will not happen, and I am normally fairly pessimistic.

I have heard some comments by a group of economists on the radio that the World economy will slow down to a very moderate growth rate of 2.5%. With that sort background, there will be only be slight increase in silver and base metal prices over the coming 12 months.

What you can expect is continued price volatility, mainly driven by speculation and mob mentality, of which my own thinking is also influenced.

First: The first sentence of this article has a typo: :By the end of next year, financial experts anticipate gold prices to double or triple from its $29-per-ounce price -- the mid-December level."

Second: Back in October they were very confident that silver was ready for a breakout on the positive side. Silver has made a break since then but as we know it has been down. It says: "There seems no way that silver will go below $26 again". Lets see how accurate that statement is before we consider their latest prediction of silver at $60.
