I got very lucky this year and actually got some Christmas money. So, I used some of the money to get a book and some coins from Dirty Old Coins. I called them several times over a month, I couldn't get a hold of them. So, I emailed Rasiel and told him that I called about 10 times and they never answer. He said to give him my phone number and so, the next day he called me.

I talked to him and told him that I wanted about 10 coins, but wasn't going to make purchase for about a week or so. He said that he'd give them to me on consignment. Then he asked me if I wanted a book that is up to date and I said yes. I'm keeping this brief, but that was pretty much how it goes.

I mainly called for the coins and asked him if they could give me a different emperor for each coin and he said he would do that. The coins are the restored ones being sold from the Balkan region.

Almost a week later, I receive the package. I open it up and there is the Aorta book, sure enough. But the coins was not there. I looked at the bill and it was to someone else. I was like, wow they gave me the wrong package. I then emailed Rasiel again and told him that they sent the wrong package and there was no coins. He said he would send them out. Still waiting for the coins.

Now that I have the book. It's signed by him and has the number 0000003. I wonder if this is the 3rd book of this printing or not. I shall ask later about it.

I am for the most part pleased with the book. It's not a large book, but it is thick and the paper is of decent quality. It has 1002 pages and the print is very small so you'd need good glasses if you can't see very well or hold the book kind of close.

I read all the introduction and up to the reference section. Most of it seems accurate to me, based on what I've already learned. At first I did not care for his attribution system but now, after looking through The RIC volumes, it seems a lot easier. There are no RIC numbers listed in this book like there was in ERIC I.

I do like the book. It's also portable, so it might be good for coin shows. I'm not at the point where I can attribute at a glance. So, this book might come in handy, I think.

When I get the coins in I will post about them. I hope they are decent quality. Of course I am not expecting top dollar coins, but hopefully. lol

Rasiel is a great, honest guy. I buy from him frequently because he always manages to give out high quality coins...even in his uncleaned lots. For Christmas I got ERIC II (AMAZING) and three uncleaned coins from France. They will turn out to be fully attributable.

I agree with ancientcoinguy, so don't worry you will get your coins and I'm sure they will be high quality. I have all his books and use them on a daily bases. Not long ago I bought AORTA, it's a great little book to take along to coin shows. What I didn't like about it is thhe print is too small and my eyes aren't that good any longer and that the RIC numbers were left out.
