Quote: No one knows that I have PM's. Well, no kidding, MK. This goes without saying. I would not be telling a single word about my PM stash to friends, neighbors, or even family members who do not need to know. Quote: I do not have a safe that can be seen. Yes, actually, you DO have a safe that can be seen, just not EASILY seen. My safe is not easily seen either. Why would anyone want one that was? Quote: Floor safe. A floor safe is good and if this is your preferred way to store some goodies, that's great. If I start cutting holes in the basement floor to install a floor safe my wife is liable to take that concrete cutting machine to me! Bottom line is to do the very best we can, keep quiet about it, and layer our defenses.

Why not just append your home insurance to cover your stash rather than worry about how to hide it? Besides I am pretty sure more coin get lost or damaged due to natural disasters than stolen.

Because most flat out won't do it and the ones that will are ridiculously priced.

If you get appraised they will cover it and the coverage wasn't cost that bad $150 for #25k coverage or something like that. Also If you are an ANA member you can insure your coin collection via Hugh Wood

Quote: Here is a photo of one defeated in less than 6 mins with nothing more than a sledge hammer and axe. Go to http://www.youtube.com and look for dynamite safe, and view all episodes. They took a good safe, dragged it hundreds of feet, rolled it down the hill, tried small arms fire, dynamite, etc. Never did get into the dern thing.

Quote: Yes Big fred what is that a picture of? looks sort of like a wine fridge or something with a glass door?
Looks like a glass door cooler reflecting a knee-on sign, with a mess of gun ports.

Re: gun safe. Despite the size, that's a cheap safe. Note lack of locking pins on the top (and bottom, I would guess) of the door, plus the pins are fairly small and the sides are laughably thin.

And not all that expensive either...just very heavy so make sure you pick a permanent spot.Ask me how I know

His stash is in the same basement room as his two Dobies... Dozer, an 80 lb. male and Sadie, a 60 lb. female. Anyone wanting in there had better want in there REAL bad. Quote: Well, I feel honored to be included among the select group of people who "need to know!" Not that knowing this would do any miscreant a bit of good, Barry. Details such as my name, town, and street address have been conveniently omitted.

My US Mint silver proof sets are neatly placed on my bookshelf along with my coin albums. I suspect any burglar will be more interested in my TV and computer than going through my bookshelf.
I am also surrounded by nosy retirees that keep tabs on everything that happens in my street.

People do tend to see what they are looking for and albums that look like all the other books on the shelf probably won't attract their attention at all.
