For the first time ever:

http://www.financialsense.com/contr...c-production

One very interesting note was the formula for supply-deficit calculation.

Quote:
GFMS has decided that coin and medal demand should not be included in the Fabrication total but rather as a form of bullion supply. So the higher the coin and medal demand, the more it adds to the so-called silver surplus. The majority of this category of "Coin & Medal" consists of official government coins that are in high demand and are not of the type that would be sold for melt and recycled back into scrap supply.

So they are considering my stack as supply, makes me wonder if they have a plan for getting their hands on it.

Thanks Hawk, yes had a great Christmas and hopefully will have a good new year ahead. A bad case of carpal tunnel was keeping me off the keyboard as much as possible.

I don't know but some kind of move along those lines would not be terribly surprising, would it?

There are some ugly twists in the US tax code involving "inputed gains". This is money or something else of value that you don't exactly have in your hands but you get taxed on it as if you did. There can be an inputed profit, for example, on a company benefit that may be nice to have but that actually puts no money at all in your pocket. I am wondering if they will come up with something along the lines of inputed profits on gold and silver should the PM markets have substantial price increases. One would hope that any such taxes would only be due when the PMs were sold... as it is for stocks... but one never knows which twisted path the minds of the bureaucrats will follow in such matters.
