While roll searching (new to this) I found a strange "ghost" image in the field of this quarter. At first I thought maybe something got on it but it seems to run under the features. The ghostly image is shinier then the rest of the field. On the reverse it's much more noticeable, sure looks like shoulders and a head at the top, or the top of a building. Any ideas?

Your coin was struck through a thin layer of grease/oil. It is a fairly common occurrence and a heavier layer of grease would actually clog the die, causing a reduction in detail on the coin. The following "QUARTER DOL" would be a good example of a die clogged due to grease and press gunk-

I thought that might be the cause, but then the top of it started to look like something. Kinda like those inkblot tests =0)Thanks for the quick response!
