your coins turned out pretty good. You already have a chi-rho reverse a zoo animal coin and two victories. Look these coins up on ebay and you will see many examples that are selling on there, and alot are not as nice as these three. I think this is a good start for you. It will add a boost of excitement for you with this part of the hobby. Have lots of fun and make sure that you show us your discoveries, after a bit your coins will look professionally cleaned. I havent really been cleaning coins lately but mostly looking for that green patina on larger coins soon I will buy more uncleaned coins I have to admit it is fun getting a rare coin from an uncleaned and it does happen.

Thanks for the input guys. After about a month using wildwinds and not understanding why it was so easy for you guys to spot the right coin, I noticed the 'include thumbnail images' with the text! Bonehead error. With the images showing on the right it is a breeze scrolling through the coins and different obverses and reverses.
I noticed in the Ancient Forvm sales the 'zoo' collection of Gallienus and yes chi-rho reverse caught my eye, as I'm collecting Biblical and related Christian coins as well. Thanks for the positive feedback on the cleaning jessvc! And all who took the time to help out. Have a lot more to post!

BTW Gil-galad thanks for doing the extra checking in RIC to attribute the griffin looking right. I didn't see that in wildwinds.

Wildwinds is not complete. It is a starting point, at least for me, but it is by no means a complete list of coins in RIC. Don't get me wrong, the amount of work that went into wildwinds is mind boggling to me, but if you can't find something there, it's time to look elsewhere.

Now that I can look at the obverses and reverses on wildwinds, that will help a lot. I had been going to the Forvm's sales and first look at the offerings then the sold to find the description. When I found it, THEN I would go over to wildwinds. But if you don't have RIC and it isn't in wildwinds or the Forvm's sales, where do you go from there? Thanks JW.

The second place I generally go to is acsearch.info or dirtyoldcoin.com research. Both are excellent starting points as well.

If it's mid-late 3rd century and later, I use Helveticas first, then Wildwinds, then anything else. If it's before mid-late 3rd century, I use Wildwinds first, then acsearch.info, then any other references. Another one that I use sometimes is CoinsCatalog.com.

I found the other sites you guys were talking about, except for Helveticas. Is that a subset of another website? Thanks for putting me on the 'path' to making attribution that much easier. I've struggled with identification of emperor's busts to the get into the ballpark to identify the reverses. But when I have a batch of coins and I get into a Constans or Constantine that I know, then I know that the rest of the coins probably are in that era, plus or minus 50 years. Of course I'm talking about uncleans, which normally are not spread apart more than the above numbers correct. (at least that's what Sayles indicated). Thanks again for your time guys. Much appreciated.
