I inherited my Grandfathers small collection over the holidays and wanted to show off a couple silver dollars that were in the collection. Nothing too spectacular, just a Morgan and a Peace dollar.

Thanks, I just used a scanner to make the images with. The rest is photoshop. Jbuck, my Grandfather meant the world to me. He raised me and I loved going through his collection as a kid. He passed eleven years ago this year but had I gotten the collection back in my twenties I probably would have lost them with all of the moving around and deployments I have been on. I am settled now so the time was right. I never asked for them, but everyone knew I wanted them.

You do your grandfather a great honour by continuing to enjoy a common interest.

Thanks. Just curious what these coins might grade at? Being new to collecting I have a rough idea but do not have the experience to tell for sure. I am guessing fine to extremely fine but am probably way off.

One more question. On the Peace dollar their is a line coming through the hair on the obverse that extends out under the "Y" in Linberty. Is this possibly from a die crack? The reverse is kind of a weak strike. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Thanks.

If it's raised, it's prolly a die crack. I've got a 22d that could be better called a fractured die, with prolly around 6" of cracks total.
