I can't say for sure, but I have seen similar medallions commemorating various world currencies before. The ones I saw were made in Liberia and had miniature images of U.S. coins on them, so maybe this is something similar? I'm guessing whatever it is, it isn't legal tender currency from Canada.

I didnt think it was legal tender. Just wondered if it was silver or not. I cant find ANY info on it at all.

If it's at all similar to the ones I was talking about, then it wouldn't be real silver. I'm pretty sure it would actually say ".999 pure silver" on it or something if it were.

I got lucky an found it with a "Canada gold maple leaf" search in like 5 minutes....

Found a beaut of a Maple leaf guild I am gonna grab it perhaps along the hunt, lol....

I like those maple leaf proofs like PoboxW posted the other day, but those list real high....

That piece there Amida17 is a fine example of a piece that may get high, which has little to zero metal value being a copper/nickel mix with "selective plating", so not much gold. note that only 9999 struck....

If you have one of those an want to sell it, put that one on your watch list so you can get a value idea come the end of that auction, even though it is in the UK.....
