I got this to replace one that wasn't as good.

I didn't know at the time it had a dot in left field which makes R3 rather than just s.

Very nice. I have always liked the design on this coin. You did well.

Here is my copy of this coin from Siscia:

That's a nice coin and a good addition to your collection.

Here is mine, a bit lower grade though.

Here's mine with desert patina from Nicodemia, AND mine has the Lochness monster hanging out with Victory on the reverse, a rare type indeed.

Cheers,

-Kurt

I always suspected they might have had a run in with Nessie while they were up north.

Now there's proof!

nice quality coin - the delta looks odd, has it be over-stamped or did the die cutter not quite get it right?

I don't believe this is an overstrike.

I looked at this area with a lupe and it appears to me that as the dotted rim metal leaves the flan at this area, it melds into the serifs on the delta causing it to be connected to the rim metal, making it appear as it does.

I think it's just an artistic touch by the die cutter. Notice how all the other letters are styled. But I could be wrong.

Gil-galad is not wrong. The delta is perfectly normal looking to me. There were may mints with many cutters and many handwriting styles. This is a nice one.
