Ummm I just looked at the coinvalues site, If I'm right at what I'm looking at this coin is a tad over priced? LOL- and reserve still not met? Dang. In MS66 it sez it's worth $450. I dont see nothing about a Proof for the S mint, So I would have to assume it wouldn't be to much more. (Let alone $23 grand)

Most likely means "Deep Proof Like" ? Should be DMPL for Deep Mirror Proof Like.

The price you are looking at is for a MS66 non DMPL coin. This is a MS68 deep mirror proof like- much rarer and much more desirable. That is every bit a $30,000 coin but it would probably fare better in a coin show auction with high dollar collectors, not on ebay. Edit: Egad! How did the graders miss that massive reeding hit by the wing Surely that knocks it down a point or two from the lofty 68* grade...

Keep the POP report in mind, also. This is the highest graded NGC coin for this date/mint and this is the only one. That always makes people pay stupid money for a coin.
The worst part of it is that I don't think I agree with the grade. It looks like there are pretty significant bag marks on the reverse. Looks like the edge of another coin scarred it pretty deeply...

Is that POP report just for coins they have graded?

Yes, that would be the total NGC population. PCGS keeps their own population reports also.

Actually PCGS and ANACS uses the term DMPL and NGC uses DPL, they all mean the same thing just differs from company to company

I sure wouldn't crack that puppy out, she'll never see that grade again. Reed mark on the reverse, and that chatter on the cheek? Cruddy picture for a coin of this stature as well. Buy the plastic, not the coin and you end up with something like this. Hey, where did the quote feature go?
