Got this back in change, anyone ever seen anything like this, know what it is?

Completely silver on back, mostly silver on front aside from a blob.

I see nothing that looks silvery, just a normal copper cent.

The top pic has a circular spot that is copper, the color around is actually silver, as is the back and edges. Ill take better pics when I get off work in better lighting, guess they are darker than I realized.

Thanks for the welcome

That's odd. I would guess that it's plated or somehow discolored, but the silvery areas seem to have luster.

If it is indeed a silver color, and the "copperish" toning of the shiny area is just lighting, then perhaps it is a mostly unplated coin with only a patch of the obverse actually plated? If that is the case, then it is definitely a keeper.

Otherwise, as mentioned earlier, it may just be one that was plated after minting with a silver metal of some type, and either the plating wore off on part of the obverse, or it was just a bad plating job.

I dunno much about coins, but that looks like a thumb print where someone would have held the coins and painted.
if not a thumb maybe a pinky print..

Some sort of plating to be sure. This kind of thing was done in high school science classes to show how electroplating works. Can't be a partially unplated planchet from the mint because it is a 1980, and they were solid copper at that point. The plated zinc didn't come around until 1982.
