I wonder if a dark "Upstate New York" basement will produce this result? Unless you are from the UP then all bets are off because you would basically be Canadian anyway...

I have a dank, nasty east coast basement thanks to hurricane so-and-so awhile ago. If the condition of the tools stored down there are any indication, I would never store a coin in such an environment or submit it to those conditions. I will leave it to others to answer the question of whether or not 96% humidity and black mold can create rainbow toning on a silver coin. It seems to render everything else made of metal a grossly dull dark brown.

It has a really nice color of toning that is pretty well displayed on the coin.
