For all of us Oregon Trail half enthusiasts here are a few on ebay. The seller has other high grade PCGS better date examples too.

Hey Muddler, I'll see your three and raise you one (RAW that is).... Here is one being offered from one of my favorite sellers. I have bought a lot of great coins from him in the past. PG

Thank you both for the links to these great coins.

Sooo ... I am trying to convince myself that my next pursuit is a search for all 13 Oregon Trail Halves by Date/MM ...

Great fun can be had pursuing this complete set of IMHO the "best" coin of the classic silver series ... my personal bias is that I truly enjoy this coin design.

I've been doing my homework ... found a price I can afford for each coin ... and will apply the same standards that I have always used ... exceptional coins only need apply for the set.

PCGS MS66 minimum ... white or nearly so ... well struck ... and CAC approved.

Currently have two MS Oregon Trail halves in my collection ...

1936-S ... PCGS MS67 ... but CAC rejected.

Great coin IMHO ... photo ...

And the current coin in my Type Set ... 1938-D PCGS MS67/CAC

I'm wavering on this mini-set of great coins ... should I pursue or not ... current thinking is yes.

David, I think the Oregon trail series is a great off shoot from your core of early commemoratives. It is one of my goals to have a full date mint set of these, I am positive you would assemble a truly awesome set.
