*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Just wanted to show my BU half dollar, I don't have many U.S. coins but this one will probably be my nicest for a long time. Also, wanted to practice my photo taking. Hope you like it:     The soldier reminds me of a man we met during our vacation in the U.S.,he fought in the Korean war, Vietnam conflict, Gulf War and Somali Civil War after which he retired. He had 3 purple hearts for getting shot or injured 3 times and several other badges and medals. A really great and humorous guy. He was selling military items at a flea market, he had a Russian uniform that he said he traded from a Russian soldier for a pack of cigarettes, the next day he traded with the same guy an AK47 for another pack of cigarettes. I asked if he'd done any Black Ops....he said if he told me, he'd have to kill me

A cool looking commemorative half, one I do not own. I enjoy stories from vets tho some can be exaggerated the spin is often interesting especially when dealing with cultural differences.

I like the looks of that coin very much. I plan on buying it eventually to fill one of my half dollar commemorative spots in my Dansco 7070.

speaking of Russian, as former Russian linguist in the army, I cannot help but notice how Russian the artwork on the obverse seems to be.
