Kitsy - Let me turn that question around and ask you - How much would you personally pay for a coin with a die chip?

I like finding little varieties in rolls & pocket change.

Some die chips coins have collector value if there is a dot in an interesting location.

I think it adds value and if it's in a good location there is a coolness factor. I think value is based on location really. I like to keep one of each I find.

When I first started roll searching, I kept every coin with a die chip and carefully put it into a 2X2. After amassing an album full, the ones I find now just get tossed into a box. I have literally hundreds of pennies with die chips. They are very common and now the only ones that get a 2X2 are the ones that have a chip in an interesting spot. Personally, I wouldn't pay any premium for one.
Rest in Peace

Back in the 1970s, tiny errors were popular/promoted. BIE Lincolns, Morse Code 1960 nickels, etc.

It got to the point where it seemed the rare coins were the ones that were minted correctly.

You've been looking at the garbage they call the "uncirculated set" have you?

Ugly speaks with wisdom! On the topic though, I only keep the ones with the chips in cool locations.
