That is pretty amazing they just stole his money. If he is that suspicious, why don't they just give him his money back and deport him?

Khaled Nawaya a flight instructor who was born in Saudi Arabia and holds Syrian citizenship, held on suspicion of being a national security threat after trying to bring nearly $1 million into Canada secretly has been released from custody and now says he's the victim of profiling. All of that because he has a DVD about Sept. 11 and some Hezbollah insignia.

Gee. Imagine that. A middle eastern guy with BIG bucks in cash and gold who is also a flight instructor, lying to the border guards, possessing incriminating terrorist-like stuff and then being surprised when he gets held for questioning. Heck, I thought that kind of scrutiny was reserved for nuns and 80 year old people. Oops, my bad... that would be the TSA way of doing things. These were Canadian guards, so obviously not suffering from attacks of idiocy.

As to "his" money being "stolen", allow me to suggest that the Canadian government probably wants to verify ownership of this money in case it was stolen. If it wasn't, they will very likely return it to him.

A few years ago, the German police got an anonymous tip that some radicals were planning to plant a bomb in a German city. They got a warrant and raided the place. While there were no people there at the time, they did find posters of Osama bin Laden, Hezbollah and other terrorist group literature, and a good quantity of wire, fuses, cell phones, detonators, and other bomb-making parts and pieces. They then stood around the apartment scratching their heads and wondering whether or not these guys were terrorists. I wonder... if they had found the same things but with posters of Hitler, would they not be pretty sure that the culprits were neo-Nazis?
