I bought this yesterday at my local coin store, as it listed as "Unlisted Overdate"..there is a DISTINCT 4 under the last 5 in 1775, so, that's good thing for us error guys...I don't know if the coin was attributed correctly, I cannot see a match anywhere(obverse reads FRANC.D: G.R.IMP.S.A. GE. IER.REX.I(OR, L?)G(OR O?) BM.H.D. REVERSE READS IN IE DOMINE SPERAVI . 1775 H UNDER LEFT LEAVES, A UNDER RIGHT LEAVES(AS VIEWED), AND 10 IN CENTER OF PEDESTAL.......could be a contemporary counterfeit(unlikely, as VERY well made), or a pattern, or, I'm hunting in the wrong Country...weighs 3.70 grams...measures approx 63/64"..slip from store says"1755/4 HA AUSTRIA 10 Kreuzer Unlisted Overdate--KM 2023" VF. Opinions welcomed..IF this turns out to be a new overdate, that would be nice, and off to Anacs for a "First Found" slab! Thanks

Based on your one closeup pic, it's pretty easy for me to "connect the dots" and see a 5/4. I'm unfamiliar with this particular coin, but I've found more than a few overdates myself. I think this coin is a very strong possibility. You might look for a 1774 coin and see whether that digit corresponds to what is seen here. Taking photos from a few lighting angles also helps show details to the underlying digit. Here's an example of a 1875/74, at two lighting angles with an overlay of the 4 digit.

Nice overlays DV---thank you for the efforts! I'll tell you, I'm having a hard time ID'ing this bloody thing..would seem so easy..checked numismaster world coin site, google...no exact match is popping up...that's OK--hunting around for info/history of coins this old is half the fun. I DO know a professional long-time coin-dealer with 10,000 years of experience labled the sleeve it came in..BUT, where he got his "unrecorded" overdate info is beyond me...some searches were pulling Hungary up..if I KNEW what the coin was, I could then scour the web for date-to-date errors on it(double dies, overdates and mis-placed dates)

I found a very close similar coin(cannot save in jpeg, only in php, thus, cannot download for here, so, use this link http://avscoins.com/viewlarge.php?i...0(A-D)&file=[GE1-201]Bavaria-10-Kreuzer-1775.jpg now, I'm trying to find the exact coin, with matching obverse/reverse. Here's the info on the 1775 10 Kreuzer from the link(my silver weight seems within guidelines(3.70-3.65)

It gets quite interesting, as my LEGEND is different than THIS, from Krause(I'll write My coins' Legend after this) KRAUSE listing for KM#2023:
Basic Coin Information KM# 2023 Denomination 10 Kreuzer Country Austria Government Holy Roman Empire Ruler Franz I Coinage Type Uniform Coinage Composition Silver Fineness 0.5 Weight 3.89 g 0.0625 oz ASW Description Obverse Bust within wreath Description Reverse Crowned double eagle above boxed value Legend Obverse FRANC • D • G • are • IMP • S • A • G • ER • IER • REX • LO • B • M • H • D • Legend Reverse INTE DOMINE - SPERAVI ================================= Now, mine:(ASTERISK =STOPS)(WEAK IN AREA OF LO .B . M . H, DIE WEAR) OBVERSE FRANC * D:(2 STOPS, 1 HIGH, 1 LOW) G * are * IMP * S * A * GE * IER * REX * L * O * B * M * H * D * REVERSE IN TE DOMINE SPERAVI * 1755 X LETTERS THROUGH LOWER PEDESTAL H--(10) A ========================================== So, a few minor differences noted there
