The Mint began packaging pennies in bulk bag form and became effective July 1,2001,. Bulk bag packaging of the nickel, dime, quarter,half-dollar, and dollar coins had been staggered in no denominational order.

The Balistic bags are composed of a double layer of mylar that endures the toughest drop and tear tests, allows for
multiple uses and enables coin to be dispensed quickly (in less than one minute) with a forklift
.
Each bulk bag of each denomination contains a large volume of coins !

(400,000 pennies;
240,000 nickels;
500,000 dimes;
200,000 quarters;
100,000 halves;
or 140,000 dollars).

The Mint fully converted all new coin packaging to bulk bag form in March 2002.

As a result, all new coins are dispensed directly into a wrapping machine at an armored carrier facility.

It looks like the cheapest bag would be $12k. I didn't bother with the weight calculation.

For some reason, it made me think of Animal House:
May I have ten thousand marbles, please?
