That is a British half-pound coin of George III (catalogue number: km672).

I've just checked and it appears to be a Half-Crown

Halfcrown it is. Some of the designs are similar across the denominations (not necessarily in this case) so it's always advisable to provide the size of the coin in question to go easier on ID helpers.
