I have the whitman cent holders I got to help me go through my jar of wheatbacks and see what I have, but 80% of the coins are too big for the slots in the '09 thru '40 folder. Is it a bad folder or are all of them like this?

I found with the Whitmans you need to apply a lot of pressure to get the coins in but once in there they will not fall out. The opposit is true of their quarter albums they are always falling out of their slots.

I also remember having trouble with their cent albums.

I have the H.E. Harris albums for my cents collection and they are sometimes hard to get in also. Once you figure out the trick it isn't too bad. I wear cotton gloves always though as I don't want a big fingerprint etched into them 10, 15, 20 years from now when someone inherits them.

I've heard the Whitman folders referred to as "Thumb Busters", and my experience with them has been just that (arthritis). One of the reasons I got away from the folders, and went to albums. Plus, with the folders, you can only view one side of your coin.

Same here Ralph. After I got into the folders,I decided an album was much nicer and easier to deal with.I like seeing both sides of my coins

The Whitman I have for my Jeffersons is pretty nice,it has slots where you can view both sides,so I am keeping this one.

Although,IMO,an album(in sleeves in 2x2's) would be better for copper cents than a folder, especially if you have any kind of humidity, they can tend to get all nasty and green.
