a bikkie?
a good welsh plug?

I thought that you folks down under spoke English.

But seriously, a dollar, Australian or USD, doesn't buy much nowadays. Good fodder for the forum.
And just imagine the good that you can do, erkle, by showing this coin to a young collector, along with a better example, as a teaching aid.

Wasted? No. Not if it teaches one other person.
I keep my worst examples to teach my sister. After all, I need to explain why I spent USD 350 on a nickel which our father got from circulation for ... five cents!

She SEES the difference!
And she agrees with, or at least understands, my management of the family's coins.

A dog's eyes and dead horse are never seen unheard of in that part of the 'States (san Diego), that I visited a couple of years ago.

So, my daughter made a top class gourmet dog's eye for a few of our friends. They loved it! They cheated, however. They substituted ketchup (a bit spicier), for dead horse. You would expect that when you are only 30 klms. north of the border.
