Anybody notice the 1963 ngc67 full step nickel that sold last week for $1050.00 plus fees at Teletrade? PCGS shows a value of $11,500.00. Good deal or what? Comments? Is this a ms67 pop 2 coin in full steps? NGC shows only that one coin at that grade and Coinfacts states only one PCGS coin in 67. Bargain or what? Jeff full steps are real sleepers and the grading services have not been giving much slack on steps lately. I saw 3 different full step nickels that a dealer showed me at the FUN show a few weeks ago that he said were just recently graded by a TPG, and they did not certify as F.S. They were full steps although the steps were somewhat rounded off. All had a complete line on the steps and had a V into the steps! Beware! Perhaps it is time for 4 steps desiginations. These are really rare coins for the most part in 5 steps, and still really undervalued. Look at the prices and pops of FBL Franklins. MS66FBL 1953s ring a bell? 70k last sale years ago and some would argue with that coins FBL desigingnation. Check it out. This reminds me of the 1945 FSB dime controversies way back when. Get them F.S nickels if you can. I keep some tough full step coins in any mint state grade. And some lessor step nickels as well... P.S. Anyone got info on the 1946S sans serif S nickel in full steps? Mine is maybe 63-4. I love it. Anyone got a better one? Comments? ...Gusp

I normally don't even breathe in that atmosphere, but I think that Teletrade coin was a rip for the buyer. Heritage data, as of a sale of an MS66FS on January 8th, indicated a combined PCGS/NGC pop for that grade as 22/2, indicating you're right about only 1-67 from each TPG.

That 66 went for $184 including the juice.

I'm working my way towards Jeffersons, myself. The info I just uncovered to answer your post, gusp, makes me think I'm going to move a little quicker that way.
