Great find! They're still out there, I've found several dozen in my days, even found two in one $25 box of cents in January.

I release old Indians every once in a while. Recently on vacation, I realeased 3 Liberty Head nickles in Sedona AZ. Dropped one in spare change bin at Coffee Pot Restaurant, one at a gas station, and left one on counter in convience store.
I like thinking of the suprise when someone finds it! I know, I'm a little nuts.
I do the same thing with old non silver foreign coins dated in 1800's
