WARNING!

zip files are a great way to put a Trojan on someone's machine. I would not recommend dling that file, just to be on the safe side. There's no reason to zip an excel file.

I agree, Fredd. The free virus checker / killer Avast! is quite good at detecting and eliminating those critters but it is still taking a chance to D/L a zip or any other compressed file.

I'm not quite clear on why the mintage or the melting of ANY junk silver is an issue, though. Coins of this type only have the value of the silver that they contain, unless they happen to be very special for some reason. Carson City Morgan dollars come to mind. For the most part, though, junk is junk. Yes, it is still 90% silver and valuable for that reason but I would not get excited about anything special about these bottom of the food chain bullion coins.

The commentary claims I think are all true, but it also seems to me he is trying to talk up the long term price of silver. Probably needs more buyers and sellers for the business he is in.

It would make sense for the U.S. mint to extract all silver from the circulating currency. No wonder so much has been melted in the past.

I think it would be fairly rare now to find old silver coins in circulation anywhere in the World.

The bottom line is that if silver price falls again below 25$ it will get to a point that it will be hard to buy junk silver anywhere, regarding that rar file had no problems here! If youre in to numismatics and I know there are a lot worldwide, I believe that if allmost all junk silver coins disapear, remember the supply and demand guys, what do you think will happen to their price I ask you all?
I would like to put a link here but the link says b astard and its sencored by the system I hope the admins put the link right because I think it is very important article and peopple should take a look at it!

Dang...if the average is 1500oz of silver stashed I have a LOONG way to go still to be average...wonder if my wife will accept "I don't even have an average amount yet" as reasoning for the constant stream of packages coming to the house? :) Earl

If 1,500 ounces of silver is stashed by everyone, silver would be $1,500 per ounce.
If 1,500 ounces of silver is stashed by everyone, we would all be millionaires.
If 1,500 ounces of silver is stashed by everyone, there would be no need for banks anymore.
If 1,500 ounces of silver is stashed by everyone, silver would soon become the circulating currency of choice.
If 1,500 ounces of silver is stashed by everyone, firearms would probably rule society.

Soo you think fiat currency is better?
You know what you can buy with a dollar today right?
Do you know what you could buy with one dollar in the 50s?
By then you had silver dollars now you have worthless paper and in case you just missed that they are printing more, more fiat money printed equals more inflation!
And before Nixon was in office you had a gold standard
Historically gold to silver ratio is 15:1, do you know how it is today?
Your great great great grandfathers knew that then, thats why there was no fiat currencies only gold and silver but then the central banks came along and everything changed, thats why they fought for independance, independance from the banksters that were ruining your country like their ruining the world today!

Probably not a whole lot. Junk 90% silver coins simply are not all that valuable. I suppose that darn-near anything is possible but the likelihood of junk silver becoming much more valuable due to scarcity seems like something that would take a very long time to occur. There ARE alternatives to them in terms of silver content, such as bars and rounds in 99.9% or higher silver content. I have a fair amount of 90% silver US coins but they are just 90% silver to me. I would happily sell or trade them in the right situation. I suspect that most of the people holding these coins would do the same. Oops, there goes the shortage.

Of course that would afect all silver coins prices, but I believe that will happen some point in time!

Welcome Myserimen! As that movie got lowsey reviews, but I always watch it when I see it on as it has become a cult classic of sorts with me, even though I will have to admit I have seen it 15 or 20 times, but never from beginning to end in chronological order, lol. Its like two hours plus, kind of ridiculous for a spoof movie about super hero's....

I love it, like William H Macey plays "The shovler", cause he shovels well as he tells his wife after coming home after a long day of fighting crime. She even tore into him, for wearing their sons catching gear for battle armor, lol. Jeffrey Rush is a fantasitc actor, an he plays Casanova Frankenstein, a true dastardly super villian, lol. And Costanza's old man's kid (Ben Stiler) plays the guy with anger issues. "Rage taking over, lol! That guy is me no doubt, red headed temper look out, lol....

"Soo you think fiat currency is better?

You are preachin to the choir, lol....

I have seen this same paragraph here many times, just in others own words, but the premise was the same....
