I finally was able to buy a Helena coin that I felt was reasonably priced. Prior to this coin, every Helena I bid on sold for too much over my budget. Anyway, I am now the proud owner of my first Helena AE4 that sold for well within my budget. The seller indicated it was struck at Trier, but to be honest, I'm not sure I can tell from the seller's images. If it is Trier, then I have it attributed as RIC 90. Any help here would be appreciated:

OBV: FL IVL HE-LENAE AVG, draped bust right wearing ornamental mantle, necklace and broad hairband
REV: PA-X PV-BLICA, Pax standing left holding branch and transverse sceptre
1.36g, 13.91mm

I can't be of much help. But the legend on the obverse looks like this to me.

FL IVL HEL-(ENAE AVG)

When I use this legend, there is only one match in Helvetica's Excel lists.

RIC VIII Constantinopolis 34

It's almost impossible to tell exactly what is in EX. What appears to be a dot to me, looks like it might be part of the remains of a letter.

FL IVL HEL-(ENAE AVG),draped bust right wearing ornamental mantle, necklace and broad hair band.

(P)AX PV-BL(ICA dot), Pax standing left holding branch and transverse scepter.

Whatever is in parentheses is off of the flan or worn off, or perhaps a die error.

That isn't a bad coin, with nice details. Too bad these coins go really high in price. Rarity doesn't mean nothing as these coins are really common and yet still high in price. Two things, because the coin has a woman on it, and two, apparently, Helena is a saint. I'm sure you already know this. This is just something I discovered on my own as she has a rarity rating of 3.

Very nice coin, I really like the headpiece. This is the posthumous issue of 337-340. Depending on the mint mark which doesn't appear to be visible it could be RIC VIII, 55, 63,47, or 42. they are all listed for Trier

Well, I can't tell from the images. It can't be RIC 42 as there is a cross in the left field on that coin. RIC 63 has "dot TRP dot" in evergue, and again this coin does not look like it has that mintmark. I guess I'll have to wait to get it in hand and perhaps will be able to see something to help out. BTW, this coin only cost $8 before shipping costs, I have never seen a Helena coin for such a small price. And, yes, I knew she is a Saint. But I always wonder how people like her and her son were named as saints. I know her son was ruthless and I can imagine that his mother had some hand in his upbringing.

I'll post my own images once I have the coin. Thanks for the input.

The portrait of Helena on this coin is very interesting.

I scrolled through a bunch of them and very few so refined as this one.
