Another one of my favorite series, Large Cents! I'm not sure if I'll ever get the holy grail, a nice Chain cent but who knows? I've managed to get every date from 1816 through 1857 except the 1823. I got that ICG 1821 example fairly cheap, it looks AU on the details, but I'd rather have a nice no problems VF specimen. The early dates are very difficult to find uncleaned or treated in some way. I prefer slabbed cents in most cases, but I'll pick up nice raw dates from copper guys like Tom Reynolds in a heartbeat. OK, the link... https://picasaweb.google.com/102006...entCoinAlbum

I'm extremely jealous of you right now! Large cents are my favorite, but I can only afford G-VG examples The draped bust large cent is my favorite coin design of all time. Thanks for sharing!

Jeff, been collecting for 40 years as of this year. The internet has really been a plus for coin collecting IMHO.

Geez, That's an incredible set. The hawaiian cent was a nice addition.

Quote: The internet has really been a plus for coin collecting IMHO. I agree. It has broadened the selection, especially for those of us that don't live near large urban areas with several coin shops to choose from. You have an amazing collection! You should be very proud!

My collection of those is far, far from that and a long way to go to get that many. At a coin show not to long ago someone had a display of them. Other dealers said that guy is famous everywhere for his inventory. He had several tables of Large Cents and many of them appeard to be either AU or MS grades. Collections of those are always impressive.

Absolutely the best assembly of large cents I have ever seen. Forty years of patient picking and you have only shown us three sets (so far). All three are filled with examples that the masses could only dream of having, congratulations on your accomplishment.
