This just arrived from a dealer in Puerto Rico whom I've bought some really nice items from in the past. He indicated that it is a very rare 450th Anniversary Medal in .999 Fine Silver. I can't find it depicted in any online source material. It does appear to be silver (ring test), is 40mm in diameter and weighs 26.1 gms. One other thing - it is struck in "coin" format vice medal format. Any information on this item would be greatly appreciated. Paleoguy

Of course, anyone can make a coinlike token.

Looks like it had nice proof surfaces when new.

Looks like a silver round. Any identifier marks on the rim?

rim-wise just ".999 fine silver" and the number "46"... It may have been struck by the Puerto Rico Numismatic Society... Just a guess....
