I found a circular piece of metal that looks like a coin with Arabic writing (I was told from a person online that the writing is Arabic and roughly says: "Company Middle East for Works").

This is a one-sided coin (hence no picture of the back). The other side is polished and has no features. The text side is flat and the non-text side is slightly beveled around the edges.

Any ideas? Please look at the image in the link below. Thanks to all that read this.

Sorry, we're gonna need a closer photo of the coin with less hand, shirt, and Levi jeans.

But according to your translation quote, it could be refering to the East India Company.

Fair enough, I'll try to take some better pictures. I had the same thought about the East India Co., but online it looks like those coins usually have a foreign language with the english language included.

It may not be the EIC, but some kind of Trading/Shipping/Transport company.

It sounds quite a few generations beyond East India Co.

The best I got from your link:

Thanks for doing the work for me, svslav. It doesn't look that old to me either. My original thought was that this was some kind of chit or IOU from the 20th century.

No, actually, it could be 16th or 17th century (or older). When sv says beyond EIC, I believe he means older not more recent. An IOU would be written on paper.

Looks to me like it could be a sort of advertising token for employing or business deals.

Actually I meant quite recent. And I said "sounds ..." because I made my judgement from the (translation of the) legend. It sounded very modern (after WW2 for sure). The looks of this jeton confirmed my feelings.
Rest in Peace
