Hello folks,
I'm new to coin collecting and while looking through some pocket change I noticed that this quarter looked like it had some different type of metal or maybe was buffed but some of it appears to be under the raised letters. When I look on the reverse, I see similar differences in the discoloration. I also noticed that the T in Liberty was weak. I hope the pictures I put up will be good enough for some type of examination. Thanks,
Monty

That's known as a Grease Filled Die. It's pretty common and not worth a premium unless a good portion of the words are missing.
