Hey all! I wanted to show you where I am in creating my website by showing you some screen shots. I hope you like it...I have spent countless hours on it. As you can see below, I do not have any pictures of the coins uploaded to my files yet. This is the only reason why the site has not been published to the web yet. As soon as I get the pictures on it will go live. My questions to you are: How does it look? What are some features that you think should be added? Is this a good way to document my collection in a public format?

Looks like a great start to me and it looks good. Having the frame setup should adjust to various resolutions. But if someone has a small monitor and has to use a lower resolution, it won't look good.
A suggestion for you. Instead of having separate images for obverse and reverse, I think it would be easier for you in the long run to use one image for both sides of the coin like Windwinds does it.
Also, I don't see why you need to upload images if you're working on the site locally. All you need do is specify the path in the image code. Don't use a full URL, then it wouldn't work.

I think it's a great way to document your collection. Also, I can't think of any features that would go well with your site without seeing it in action.

I agree with Gil. Hard to comment about features without playing around with it.

For example; Starting with your site's base directory. img is your image directory, constantiusII would be the emperor directory, then the image file. For example. It's very easy to do. There are other parameters to use as well. This is the basics.

Thanks for the quick feedback. Quote: A suggestion for you. Instead of having separate images for obverse and reverse, I think it would be easier for you in the long run to use one image for both sides of the coin like Windwinds does it.
I should have mentioned that I am combining the images of both front and back like Wildwinds. In the end it will save a ton of file space and reduce the time necessary for the page to load by decreasing bandwidth. The info will be imbedded into the html coding so it will be a self-contained site and will not need to rely on outside image-hosting sites. (I think what I said makes sense...? lol) I am using coding almost identical to what you posted above, Gil-galad.

Once you get it set up I suggest setting up a forum as well. May or may not be active, but it could help with site traffic. You can either set up your own forum or find a free one like Proboards which isn't too bad for being free.

I can't wait to be done with it, either! Unfortunately, many of my coins are not very photogenic. But, it is nice to share them with others and potentially help some people.
Gil, I had not thought of adding a forum. That is an interesting idea...but I am hesitant because I do not want to take anything away from CCF.
