I liked what DVCollector did, I just would like to make it a little more "contesty".
The set up will be like in the Memory game. I have 15 coins to give away, so there are 30 cards, 15 with the obverses, 15 with the reverses, all assigned randomly.

On your turn you will "flip up" two cards (by posting two numbers and I'll expose them for you) and try to match two sides of the same coin. The similarity to Memory ends here -- no need to remember anything, every move will be recorded in this thread. Spot a match, flip the cards, call it, and the coin is yours. The coins pictured on the cards are the actual give away articles.
Disclaimer: no
US coins. Actually, no coin happened to be from the Western Hemisphere (this one wasn't planned). Some coins may be nicer than others.
Now,
The Rules:
1.
Eligibility. I should be able to contact you by mail to find out your mailing address. So, your email feature isn't activated in your profile means you are ineligible. Pillars will be limited to a single coin (after you win a coin you're officially out of the game), all "under-pillars" can go for two.
2.
Moves. A" move" is your post with two
distinct numbers between 1 and 30. If the move is legal I'll try to be prompt about revealing the cards you named.
Your next move may not occur till next day, with the "new day" starting at 10:00 pm Forum time. If you've already made a move and post another one before 10 pm it will be considered "illegal" and will not count. I do work and sleep sometimes, so some posts may have to wait.
New addition: No duplicate moves are allowed, that is both of the cards you're flipping might be already named before but not together in a single move. For this and other reasons I would like you to pay attention to what other players do.3.
Anti-sniping rule. To discourage people sitting on the sideline waiting for matches and then jumping in with the pair of cards -- your first move can be an accidental match only, i.e. at least one card of the match has to be opened for the first time. This rule does not apply for the first 24 hours from the first move of the game.
4.
Matches. The player who uncovers two sides of the same coin has exactly three hour grace period (from my post which reveals the cards) to call the match. Most matches will be obvious, but with different degree of darksidedness it may be more challenging for some players. So that nobody calls random pairs a match, just in case, two incorrect calls disqualify a player for the rest of the game.
If the player with the match hasn't called it within 3 hours, anybody who has made at least one move can call the match within an hour. First to post gets it. However, if you call happens to be posted 2 hours 59 minutes from my card revealing post it will not count.
A match that is not called within four hours of being revealed, 3 hours by the player who got it, and one more hour by any player, will be considered unwanted, and the coin will be removed from the pool.
Please refrain from posts hinting about a match, no "I wonder if he's gonna call it ..." posts.
I'm doing this kind of game for the first time, please see if I left anything out. I'll give everybody twenty-few hours to read the rules and ask questions.
We'll start on Tuesday, the 14th, after 10:00 pm forum time when I come home from work/errands.
