Received this in change today, 6 looked odd. After viewing under a 20x glass it doesn't look like marker/pen after the fact.

Ideas?

started collecting coins and such that come my way and this site has been a great help. Thanks!

I am just a novice collector, but my guess is over inking and it is cool, but not worth much of a premium. I am curious on what a expert says though.

Novice here too. I agree, this is an error IMO, but not the kind of error that will wow error-seeking collectors, so you will not generally get a good premium for this, but you never know...

Thanks guys! Novice myself and pretty much along the same line of thought, but one of those, better ask and make sure. :)

It could be an ink smear, but the color of the extra ink looks off as compared to the serial #.

Like if someone took a green marker or felt tip pen.

Not sure, so hang onto it, just in case.

You have great eyes to notice something that minor.

I'm surprised no one else has replied to it yet.
